US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have arrived in the Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi for the meeting on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Following their historic first summit in Singapore in last June, Trump and Kim announced an agreement stipulating that Pyongyang would make efforts to promote the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in exchange for the United States and South Korea freezing their military drills.
According to various media reports, apart from the main «denuclearization» agenda at the Hanoi summit, the US president and DPRK leader could sign a peace treaty on ending the 1950-1953 Korean war. Ahead of the second Trump-Kim meeting, the US House of Representatives introduced a resolution calling for a formal end to the Korean war.

US President Donald Trump said Wednesday he was honoured to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and expressed hope that their second summit would be as successful as the first one.
«It is an honour to be with Chairman Kim, it is an honour to be together … It is great to be with you. We had a very successful first summit …This one, hopefully, will be equal or greater than the first one. We have made a lot of progress. And I think the biggest progress was our relationship. Our relationship is really a good one,» Trump said at the beginning of the two-day summit.
Commenting on the meeting, Kim told reporters before the dinner that they «had an exchange, a very interesting dialogue for 30 minutes,» while Trump joked that his brief meeting with Kim was so good that journalists would want to pay to hear it.
«We will have a very busy day tomorrow, and probably we will have a very quick dinner. A lot of things will be solved, I hope. I think it’ll lead to a really wonderful situation in the long term. Our relationship is a very special relationship,» Trump said.
